2025 Has a Story to Tell and to Share

By Brenda Jank

Have you taken time to jot down the highlights, the work of God, and what you learned about yourself and others through the good, bad, and ugly of 2024?

Are you an office manager? A parent? A pastor? A small group leader?

Do it – but do it together.

Gems will rise up.

Collective Storytelling is team building and God honoring. It is easy to forget important things—the things that bless and encourage us and others.

Consider starting a New Year’s Journal. I know it is January 7th but it is not too late! You could answer the questions below (or add your own) year after year and create a testimony of God’s handiwork in your life. What a treasure this could become! Grab your 2025 calendar and carve out 30-minutes this week and dive in!

If you lead a group, consider making this a team-building opportunity. Allow your groups time to individually answer some of these questions, then come together and let the storytelling begin.

  1.     What did I accomplish? Enjoy? Celebrate?
  2.     What hurdles did I face?
  3.     What made me laugh? What made me cry?
  4.     What did I learn?
  5.     How did God make himself known to me this year? How has my faith grown?

A Word to the Wise
Only be careful, and watch yourselves closely so that you do not forget the things your eyes have seen or let them fade from your heart as long as you live. Deuteronomy 4:9a

Amen.
