The Truth Will Set You Free

By Brenda Jank

Never Never Land exists.
It’s a delusional state dependent on a future that will never transpire.
It’s not a place, but a season.
You know, the time after Christmas when life will be less hectic or the time after the conference when you’ll have more breathing room.

What are you waiting for to end, so that sanity can begin?
Stop living the lie. Life will never get easier. Chaos and complexity are inevitable.

Guard it.
When the day arrives, refuse the guilt-trip.
Needs will go unmet.
It’s OK.
You are responding to an invitation that is unwise to neglect.

Don’t let this go in one ear and out the other.

Pick a date today.
A staff mandate sent me on my first personal retreat in 1992. It turned my world upside down. If you’re in the position to propel others into new realms, do it, but don’t get left behind.

“Then, because so many people were coming and going that they did not even have a chance to eat, he said to them, “Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.” So they went away by themselves in a boat to a solitary place…”
Mark 6:31-32

  1. Perfect, Brenda. There no “happily ever after” on this earth.  There will be one when we get “Home”, but that’s not for us now.  For now we follow the Shepherd.  He “MAKES US LIE DOWN IN GREEN PASTURES…HE RESTORES OUR SOUL”. It would be great if we really cast everything on Jesus.  It would be awesome if we didn’t compare ourselves to what we “believe” we should be.  For now my sister, delegate what you can.  Rest when you can.  And trust Jesus for the rest.
